LETTER OF APPRECIATION TO MEMBERS OF THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY BY THE INCOMING REGISTRAR
I am deeply humbled and grateful for your prayers and support that led to my emergence as the incoming Registrar of the Federal University Lokoja. I see this as a demonstration of your commitment to the ideals of our university, the visions of its founding fathers and faith in the system. Let me quickly assure you that this appointment is a call to service and more work. It is a collective responsibility that requires all hands to be on deck for smooth administration and achievements of the goals and objectives of the University. I wholeheartedly accept this responsibility and, Insha Allah, I hope to dedicate my life to this cause.
I use this opportunity to fervently call on well-meaning staff, students, and members of the University community to bring their wealth of knowledge, experience and technical competency to bear on the incoming administration. I pledge to be a Registrar for all and to be easily accessible at all times. My doors shall always be open for constructive engagements that will move the University forward.
I intend to have regular interactions with members of the University community to harness useful ideas to strengthen the administrative structure of the University that will drive the laudable vision of our dynamic Vice-Chancellor – Professor Angela Freeman Miri.
Permit me to use this occasion to appreciate the University Governing Council, members of Management, staff, students and the entire University community for their dedication, loyalty and sacrifices that have seen the University emerged as the best among the 12 new Federal Universities in Nigeria. My stewardship intends to sustain this drive and create an atmosphere that will engender and promote excellence, hard work and a good reward system.
Much has been said about the outgoing Registrar, She, indeed, has been a dutiful wife, mother, administrator per excellence, and a Registrar’s Registrar. Her dynamic contributions to the emergence and growth of the Federal University Lokoja cannot be over emphasized. I owe her a debt of gratitude for her mentorship and salute her courage and doggedness in transforming the University and particularly, the Registry to what it is today.
Thank you all.
I remain yours sincerely,
Usman Suleiman Obansa, MCIA
